Quantification of the Environmental Impacts of Highway Construction Using Remote Sensing Approach

چکیده

Highways provide key social and economic functions but generate a wide range of environmental consequences that are poorly quantified understood. Here, we developed before–during–after control-impact remote sensing (BDACI-RS) approach to quantify the spatial temporal changes impacts during after construction Wujing Highway in China using three buffer zones (0–100 m, 100–500 500–1000 m). Results showed land cover composition experienced large 0–100 m buffers while was relatively stable. Vegetation moisture conditions, indicated by normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) (NDMI), respectively, demonstrated obvious degradation–recovery trends buffers, surface temperature (LST) progressive increase. The maximal relative as annual means NDVI, NDMI, LST were about ?40%, ?60%, 12%, 0–100m buffer. Although mean values remained stable study period, their variabilities increased significantly highway construction. An integrated environment quality (EQI) impact manifested most its close proximity faded away with distance. Our results effect distance at least 1000 from indicators (both variability). proposed this can be readily applied other regions disturbances systems subsequent recovery.

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
